BUSINESS
REALLY IS "MAGIC" THIS YEAR
It's
getting to that time of year when Pantomime comes around and
families go together to Theatres all over Britain to be
entertained. It's a seasonal event and in every theatre the magic
is produced by a dedicated team of Actors, Production, Creative
and Backstage people. A local firm has been contracted by four
major Theatre Producers to add to this magic at Nottingham Theatre
Royal, The Churchill Theatre in Bromley, The Nelson Mandela
Theatre in Johannesburgh and a P&O Caribbean Cruise!
Graham
J McLusky, Theatre & Multimedia Services has once again been
lucky to secure contracts to provide the lighting and special
effects for two "Aladdins", one "Mother Goose"
and no less than six musical cruise productions. All of these
require extremely special attention and detailed planning, to
provide the shows with the "magical" touch. Using
hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of state of the art lighting
equipment, special effects, lasers, "intelligent" lights
etc, Graham, who heads the firm, sets out to make magic on all
these major shows.
Over
the 30 years Graham has worked in the Theatre, he has worked with
many stars of Stage and TV. This year he will be with Claire
Sweeney - Former Brookside star & celebrity big brother
contestant; The sly Fox and TV Megastar Basil Brush; Children's TV
Stephen Mulhern (Ministry of Mayhem), television's soap opera
scoundrel Jeff Hordley (Cain Dingle in Emmerdale) and Freya
Copeland (Emmerdale).
"Business
really has taken on a new pace" says Graham. "Things
have become steadily busier this year with the order book
beginning to fill for 2007".
Whilst
away in the Caribbean, another Show of Graham's will be heading
for London's West End. "Stones In His Pockets" The award
winning long running Irish comedy will be setting up camp at the
Duchess Theatre for an extended season. Graham's team of
Production Designers and Engineers will be putting it in place and
making all the fine detailed touches.
